We are building accessible, adaptive/resilient food and water security systems. We are working globally with indigenous and marginalized communities while building a climate collapse collective that educates with a stewardship, indigenous consciousness and 7 generations lens.

Our grassroots mutual aid network is aligned with life sustaining ways modeled in the natural world. We serve the land by working with the underserved and those intentionally marginalized in regenerative spaces i.e. Indigenous, Black, Femme, 2SLGBTQIA+, disabled people and youth.

Seed Program

We bring our mission statement into our seed program by focusing on only the most resiliant adaptive seeds for our high desert climate. We are in NW New Mexico at 7400 feet, zone 5B, with and average of 120 day growing season. This will create a curated collection of seeds for free distribution to marginalized communities in harsh climates.

Our seeds are genetically diverse and landrace seedstock including conservation varieties bred by generations of indiginous scientists. We are then conditioning and stressing these seeds on our experimental dryland farm to produce the most, resilient, drought tolerant, short season seeds.

We are open for scheduling visitors and online participants interested in learning about any of the subjects offered in the list below. These will be ongoing projects with recurring and additional workshops throughout the year.

We offer live in work trade apprenticeships with our founder Juniper. They bring an organic, accessible , systems perspective from generational subsistence farming and stewardship. With their first personal subsistence project in the Utah high desert in 1998.

We are in need of natural products like lots of clay of any color! Sand, rocks and decorative elements to embed. Please bring any of these things you can. We will also be sourcing from the Cibola National Forest.

Soil enrichment / Biochar
Biochar is the key to soil biology and moisture retention. We show a number of ways to produce char then charge and inoculate it to produce biochar. From a cone-shaped pyrolization pit to simple and retort kilns. Our partner farm does large-scale production. Also broad forking and other ways to incorporate biochar into your soil without tilling.

Thermal greenhouse renovation
Pallet cob wall with aluminum cans, volcanic cinder and lime plaster finishes. Basin bed building with soil heating.
Water management & Sequestering
Berm, swale and basin building. Cistern systems, erosion control.
Dryland Farm Improvement
Extending irrigation channels across the landscape. Building waffle and scallop beds. Broadforking. We will be planting landrace and conservation crops.
Drought Response Forestry
Assessing trees for health, fire safety, treatment or removal. Landscape Management to protect root zone and sequester water.
Small Livestock Management
Care and ethical raising of geese, chickens and rabbits. Butchering and processing of rabbits and hides.
Qigong Movement for Health
We are health focused. We offer eight brocades Qigong practice sessions, fascia release, lymphatic drainage and other practices for visitors. We will also do basic stretching before working. Body work, personal journeys and other therapies available for a fee with an alternative practitioner and a licensed psychotherapist.
Meshtastic Network
Learn to build a resilient, solar-powered mesh network using Larawan radios and Meshtastic for secure text communication and critical information access when conventional systems fail.

This is a visibly queer 2slgbtqia+, neurodivergent, disabled hosted and focused space. Hosts will prioritize self-care, this is generally a very slow paced environment. Our primary educator is very autistic, uses direct communication, expresses boundaries has flat affect and neurological differences. Their service dog will accompany them everywhere.

We practice deconstruction and abolitionist culture, prioritizing marginalized viewpoints. There are no new age gurus, fawning or social hierarchy games here, just experience-based collaborative education without competition or ego. This is an organic not an academic space.

We have a comfortable 3br 2ba Airbnb style house to offer for participants to share when not occupied. We also have a furnished 20 ft canvas Bell hot tent and 16 ft stargazer bell tent.

We provide healthy ingredients to work together to prepare a shared meal on work days. An outdoor kitchen will be provided for general use. Custom dining experiences available for a fee.

Shared food is free of gluten, dairy, soy, sesame, bell/sweet peppers due to hosts allergies. We cannot accommodate nut allergies.

Cigarettes and especially alcohol are discouraged. Smoking areas will be restricted due to fire danger. Cannabis and other natural substances are used.
Anticipate the elevation affecting you in unexpected ways, bring a water bottle.

All events are subject to the weather and the condition of the miles of dirt road to get here. They can become impassable very quickly. A recently maintenanced well running vehicle is required, top off all fluids before travel. Four-wheel drive and or non cable chains are recommended especially for extended stays.

We have spaces for vehicle life people to camp and a workshop to improve your living space. Vehicle maintenance and building services available for a fee or work trade.

This is a very remote, harsh and unpredictable place. Come prepared with outerwear for ALL wind & weather.
Children and pets must be discussed before arrival due to safety concerns. We are in the Dine/Navajo Nation, you must move carefully on this land.

Over prepare with food, water, toiletries and other consumable supplies that you might need. Shopping is in Gallup an hour and a half or a Dollar store 25 minutes away in Ramah. Aside from an expensive gas station Pinehill only services the local Dine population.

We have 3 active dogs and farm animals that are a part of daily life along with the surrounding wildlife like rattlesnakes, many biting insects, elk, coyote and feral rez dogs that must be considered and respected.

We are virus and disability conscious! Please take measures to reduce your exposure in the 2 weeks before your visit. Have ZERO symptoms and send a negative covid test photo before arriving.
